I was born on the fourth (of March), so today is my "Boss Day." I decided to protect my sanity today and take a news break to avoid having to see the people in charge.
As if to cement this, yesterday's storm gave us some felled trees. The one across the driveway effectively walled us off from the world. No one was getting to us, and we weren't going anywhere.
Big A and I had a meditative retreat planned for today. I even wore all my crystals, expecting to find transcendence... Nothing. But I still had a peaceful good time though.
Another tree that fell in the back seems to have broken our pond and all the water is slowly emptying out. I'm so worried about the creatures that lived in there.

Poor trees! I'm glad that you didn't have any fall on your home or cars (or persons). What a sadness about your pond. I hope it's able to be fixed easily.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer published the Declaration of Independence on its front page yesterday. Reading it was an astonishment; so many of the conditions that spawned it are present today. It was incredibly sobering.
Yikes! That must have been a huge storm to knock those trees over. I mean, it's nice to have a meditative retreat and not go anywhere, but it also would give me a nervous, "we're locked in" feeling.
I have taken so many news breaks that now my "news feed" (the one that pops up on my phone) is so silly. It's mostly updates from Hello! magazine talking about the Duchess of Gloucester turning 80 and what the Duchess of Wales wore to a an event for a children's charity, with the occasional speech from our PM. News we can use!

Oh Maya, the damage sounds awful. I hope you are able to "break free" from the tree soon and that the creatures in your pond find a way to survive until you can figure out how to fix it. I'm grateful you two are physically OK, as is your home but it's still really rugged. I've been on more or less of a news break since I came to the lake. It's rather liberating. Hang in there, my friend.
I hope the solitude was restorative, but I'm guessing worry about the pond marred it.

Trees have been falling so regularly around here, storms are making me quite anxious... But yes, thankful we're all ok!

Yikes! That was some storm! I hope someone came to your aid quickly so you could get out of your house if need be! There have been some really bad storms this year! Your boss day sounded wonderful, though! I love that you have that tradition!

I'm beginning to feel some fear about storms, because we've had trees come down with every one lately, and we have a lot of trees, some close to the house...
