I lie here
I don't count the days
anymore than I count trees
anymore than I count trees
they're here
and although real
also possess speechlessness
as if a call
of golden light spilling
from an eagerly opened door
its mouth
holding in itself
a hole promising easy extinction

I'm so glad you're back! XOXO
This poem is beautiful, especially the first stanza. What an extraordinary metaphor! I'd like to talk more about it, but it can wait.
I'll be reading and responding to all of your back postings soon, and in order so that I can Be There With You.
Your poetry is always so lovely, such eloquent use of language. I was passing by your street yesterday (unfortunately in a rush) and wondered how you've been, as I've been checking the blog each day. SO happy to see a post from you. And now seeing many -- and I don't know why they didn't show up before. So, I'll go back and read each and every one!
Hey, you're back! And in Greece? I will have to read the last month or so worth of posts to get oriented. Lovely to see you.
Thank you for the care and kindness here and elsewhere, Nance. You are so appreciated <3
Sorry I missed you, Jeanie! I've been offline for a bit. Emailed you as well, but I hope we can get together before you head for the Lake.
Thanks, Steph! It's a bit chaotic...
