A long FaceTime with my dad first thing in the morning. Everything about this post is so true and his hair is still so luxurious except strikingly all silver. Hopefully, that's me someday!
The rest of the day was trying to make sure that At and Nu remembered to do something nice for Big A and that Big A called his dad. I'd ordered a custom bracelet for Big A with all five kids' names on it (Scout too, naturally).
Flashback: At our rehearsal dinner, At (whose bio dad died when they were a toddler) asked if Big A could be "dad." And when we were having Nu, Big A legally adopted At so there would be no question in At's mind or anyone else's that he was truly dad. This was one of the things that made my mom love Big A so extra. Maybe me too.

I'm glad you had a good chat with your dear dad. Having a full head of hair is really something to be proud of at his age! Or any age really! Phil often comments when he sees a guy or an actor with a full head of hair because his hair line is creeping back and his hair isn't exactly thick.
Phil got to golf with coworkers so had a really nice Father's Day. We are at the stage of parenting where time away to do something you love is the best gift. I had a good time, too, as we went to the pool and I've reached the stage where I can read while the kids swim!
That makes my heart swell, the story of At and Big A!

Finding time for oneself is key to sanity (let alone happiness) with such young kids (no matter how wonderful they are--maybe even more so when they're so wonderful?). It's so awesome that you and Phil have a system that is so loving and respectful!
Hair is so weird! My dad's older brother had very few silver hairs (like 10/12?) but my dad is all silver.

This story just confirms what I assumed all along about your husband--that he is a generous, kind, gentle, and loving man. I love that At felt that, too, and fully wanted Big A to be Dad. How magnificent for all of you.
