Except now it's being taken seriously and I have an appointment with a podiatrist and a boot. The boot is cumbersome, but it compresses the top of my foot and that feels so good. It would have been seriously helpful if I had gotten it two weeks ago when my foot was all swollen, puffy, and about thrice as painful. Well, now I know better.
The nurse practitioner has prescribed me some pain medications to pick up at the pharmacy. I didn't tell her I did not even take OTC pain meds all this while.
I'm usually pretty wimpy with discomfort and pain. But at this point, the physical pain seems merely a distant echo of the psychic pain.

Oh dear! A broken toe! I am glad you saw a podiatrist so you can get in a boot which is a hassle but so helpful for healing!
Oh goodness, I’m so sorry! Sigh.
Yikes!!! I'm glad you're getting it treated *gentle finger wag about the delay*
How did you break it? I was putting something away in the pantry and I bumped a jar of peanut butter off the shelf and it landed on my toe. I thought for sure I broke it, but no, just bruised. This was a few weeks ago and it's ALMOST normal now.
Oh, no. I'm so glad you've gotten treatment and are on your way to healing.
I know what you mean about prescription pain relievers. SAME. I hope you don't let yourself suffer, however; OTC can help relieve inflammation, which is the body's enemy to healing.
Ouch ouch ouch! Hoping it heals quickly!
Oh dear. Foot pain can really interfere with a lot. I'm glad the boot is helping.
Thanks, Nicole. I stubbed it... apparently, that's all it takes for my bones to splinter these days... :/
Nance, yes. I know I should have taken some OTC for that at least. I can be very stubborn (and dumb).
They gave me a boot already, and it's impossible to drive in it...

Thank you XO
I miss walks, Steph--it's making me feel extra crazy.
