armature

I keep disappearing
inside my head
becoming a promise
so unbound

it's like using clouds
as landmarks
or charting open skies
as a map

places that turn endless
as love unseen
to teach me that healing
isn't always clear

I lift my hands upwards
in adoration
surprised when I learn
how heavy they are

Pic: Sunbeams on our way home from the Pistons game in Detroit on Sunday. They handily won the playoffs, so the mood in our car was jubilant.

Oooh what a photo!!
Rob and Jake have been watching basketball and so I feel like I'm getting it through osmosis, despite never watching it myself!

Lovely picture. I'm sorry you are still feeling unmoored.

I love a photo of a "biblical sky." Gorgeous. Three cheers for the Pistons! (Even though I do have divided loyalties when it comes to the Cavs!)

Detroit is formidable. I hope the Cavs can get past them!

This poem is wonderful. The second stanza is so beautiful in its Imagery and meaning, and the last stanza is heartwrenching. I also think the enjambment is so key to your meaning and tone. I felt every single emotion you described.

I've been hearing so much about the NBA playoffs and I barely ever hear about the NBA. It must be pretty exciting.

This is a lovely poem, and a gorgeous photo. Oh, the poignancy of a jubilant experience, with hands still (always?) so heavy. <3

I usually go to keep A company, but this one drew me in because the crowd was so keyed up!

Thank you, Steph... Yes... and... also so much better <3

Ha! Yes, very "biblical"!! I like that--I always do think it is portentous.

I should find out how you come by your Cavs love... A too, but he grew up near Cleveland.

Thank you, Nance <3

I feel like if we were a different age and gender, here is where we'd be making bets re. the Pistons and Cavs :)

Engie, Apparently this is the first time since 2008... or (to put it another way) Obama's first win...

Thank you, J!

I'm sure you're right! I see that the latest line has the Pistons at 3 1/2 with the Cavs as the underdog. Tell Big A that we need his support!

Beautiful picture and beautiful poem!! And hooray for the Pistons! The Wolves one the first game of the 2nd round of the playoffs and then got absolutely trounced by 40 points last night... so it's not looking good. And the Wild lost their first 2 games of the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Thank you! lol Lisa, You're talking as though I'd understand this!
