1) This puppy who has a heart-shaped blaze/bindi on his forehead and looks like an elf and I've been calling Legolas in my head (Lego for short). I need another baby to care for to keep me
happy sane. Big A will do whatever I want. The human kids think it's a bad idea, but then they don't
live here (Nu will be off to college in a couple of months).
At reminded me that there's a long history of me making rash decisions and being saved by my kids. But I really want this baby. Look at him! He looks so sweet! He looks so sad! He needs me!
2) My mom and sister are coming for a two-week visit! Later this month or early in July! Tickets haven't been finalized yet. But obviously, I'm already excitedly planning out every day's itinerary.
Both or neither of these things may happen... or not. But for now, my head is in such a happy anticipatory space.

Well you know I'm always going to be supportive of you! Three puppies seems like a lot for me, I'm a one-dog-at-a-time gal, but I support your choices. He's a cutie for sure!
Yay for a visit from your mom and sister! How exciting is that!
Nice
How fun to have a visit from your mother and sister.
Good luck deciding about the puppy. I'm surprised the kids are skeptical. They'd get the benefit of visits and none of the responsibility.
GAAAAH! He's adorable! If you feel like you need another baby, then you should get him. Of course it's easy for me to say- I'll just be over here looking at all the cute photos while you do all the hard work of caring for a puppy. But- more is almost always better.
Hooray for a mom and sister visit! I hope it all works out.
That doggie is adorable!! And how exciting to host your mom and sister for 2 whole weeks!!
He needs you. He definitely needs you. And he's adorable, too. I hope all works out well for your mom/sister's visit!
I’m not sure I have it in me to ever adopt a new puppy, they are so much work. But OMG, how adorable, I would be sorely tempted by that face! I hope that your mom and sister are able to come, that will give you lots of joy - anticipatory, actual, and then memories. <3
I just know I'd never be able to handle a visit from my mother and either of my sisters AND a new pet (plus two other dogs) at the same time. When Jared and Jordan got me a plant, I hate to admit that the first thing I thought was, "Oh, hell. This is a part-time job."
And I'm RETIRED!
But you know your capacities (you do, don't you?) and commitments. He's adorable, for sure. (I'd have him in bed with me every night.)
You're so kind and supportive, Nicole! (I am getting that vibe where you read a novel where the protagonist is about to make a bad decision though, lol.)
:)
Right?! I'm so confused about that. Nu is using that point to argue the soundness and neutrality of their advice.
The early months can be a lot of work, but summer is the best time for it! Thanks Jenny!
These decisions would be so easy if ugly puppies existed in this world!
Jeanie, Yay! I hope you get to pet him all you want too!
Confession: I'm a teensiest bit scared of dogs, but not when I see them from the time they're babies... So I always have to start from when they're puppies.
I love this!!: "lots of joy - anticipatory, actual, and then memories." Thank you!
lol, Nance. I hope your plant is doing well. I know you have geraniums from way back when and are great at keeping things alive!
To be honest, the busy-ness part of it may be a bigger draw than the cuteness about Puppy #3. When I'm busy taking care of beings and things I can take care of, my mind won't linger on things I have no control over.
I’m laughing at Nance feeling the heavy weight of responsibility over her plant! HAHAHAHA!
Replying to you being the tinyist bit afraid of dogs, I’ll admit that that is a risk with a grown dog that you bring into your home, because you don’t know them. When we first got Mulder he was 7 months old and had been at a foster home for 3 weeks, so we were pretty sure he was fine. Back then my husband worked weird radio hours, and one night he was working until midnight or something, and when I was getting ready for bed, Mulder started barking at me. I got worried, like, “Uh, I don’t like this, is this going to work out???” Turned out he just needed to poop before bed and was letting me know that I had forgotten to let him out. What a good boy he was, lots of dogs would have just pooped in the house!
LEGO!!!!! Omg, this HAS to happen! And then I have to come visit! Where do you live again?
I'm hardly ever Team "Get the Puppy!" but I'm 100% Team Get the Puppy in this case!
