dream politics

There's schadenfreude to those two horrible people having a snitty shouting match in public. But the horrors and the cruelty don't stop with them so I must keep on protesting.

The story of the young man who died because his maintenance inhaler became too expensive is nightmarish. The wholesale, wide-ranging cruelty of the people in power gives me elaborate revenge fantasies where they experience everything they're causing for other people. The "Big, Beautiful Bill" has got to go. The people they've removed from their families have got to be returned. Federal agencies have to be restaffed, re-standardized, re-funded... it may take years to reverse the uncaring viciousness of the last six months. Not that where we were six months ago was ideal.

In my dreams there are pickets and marches and wars every day. Yesterday, I was bossily moving someone closer to a TV camera so their poster would get more attention. The closest I came to that in real life yesterday was when I moved a planter closer to a spot of sun.

Pic: Black squirrel nibbling. Despite having lived in Michigan for well over a decade, black squirrels still delight me. This one's delighting in a tidbit they found in the grass.

The US health care system is a travesty, in my (somewhat uninformed) opinion.
Squirrels are cute but they are a menace to gardens everywhere! I don't think I have gotten over the year I planted 150 bulbs in the fall and squirrels dug up and ate every last one, those little fuckers.

We have black squirrels here, too, but they're not native. In the early 20th century, the National Zoo released them into the city and now they're all over the DC Metro area, including a pocket of them in Takoma Park. I mostly see them on a hospital campus two blocks from my house.

Yes, in my dreams things are quite a bit different as well! You put everything much better than I could say it though.
We don't have black squirrels here- that one is a cutie!

I was really enjoying the melt down between these 2 a-holes yesterday. I'm here for the spilling of the tea.

My concern about the BBB is that when/if they revamp it, it's not remove/reduce tax cuts - I fear they will improve the deficit projects by further cutting medicaid... :(

#ETTD is all too real. I couldn't even gloat over the breakup of the two big, dangerous narcissists because the damage they did together was already done, and I know that their tantrum fallout could be significant.

Why am I still astonished that the congress is okay with all of this?

RE: black squirrels. I will never stop being charmed by them. There are some at our lake community and a few near our neighbourhood at home. I imagine that they do not have the same awful habits as our ordinary russet, brown, and grey squirrels, but are instead well-mannered and sweet.

Yup. The food fight in DC is rather fun to watch but it doesn't solve the issue which is that bill and all those who support it or pulled it together in the first place. I just worry that they'll make t worse and cut more. That said, the snit is fun after all else we've been through. I had to laugh when TACO man said about the middle east that they were like kids and to let them fight it out. (As erroneous as it was in that situation.) Did he not realize he was also talking about himself?

I'm so sorry about your bulbs, Nicole.
And you're not at all wrong about the U.S. health system.
