I can't believe

*That I have to get a visa to go to the U.K. (Ok, not quite a visa but still, an entry authorization--ETA--to procure ahead of time instead of at the airport when one lands there.)
That it took about seven minutes to complete the process...
That it's supposed to take three days to process... but the approval arrived via email within about 10 minutes.

*That I've taken on another child advocacy case.
That my wonderful coordinator there has just been diagnosed with cancer.
That the kids in this case have the worst biblical names a pair of siblings could ever have.

*That it's snowing now. We were nearly to 50 degrees during the day when I had a lovely walk with KPB.

Pic: Big A, Huck, Max. Is something tasty going on? I love how Max loops his arm around yours to ensure you don't stop petting him. (And is it just me, or does Max look like he has a J.D.Vance-level of eyeliner on?)

Oh, it's so smart to be able to fill out the ETA ahead of time! It looks like most countries have to do that though, no? I guess this is a new thing and UK specific?
I know you can't say but when I was in university, there were two guys that ran a math/ stats tutorial, and their names were Ron and Moses, I later found out that Ron was actually Aaron. But to me the worst pairing would be Cain and Abel.
I'm so sorry about your coordinator, how sad.
Rex also winds his leg around you so you'll keep petting!

I'm thinking the siblings are Cain and Abel. But WHO would name their kids that???
Love the photo- yes, the looped paw and the eyeliner... hahahaha.

My cats do the same thing! Our pets are good communicators in so many ways.

Spring is so slow to come. There are days when I am almost frantic about it.

Sometimes, unfortunately, parents are the worst thing to happen to their children. I'm glad you are there to help.

I'm sorry about your acquaintance's diagnosis and the weather. Winter takes so long to end in the midwest. Glad the red tape was relatively easy.

Ugh. Snow in April is so brutal! Our weather has been all over the place but yesterday was really gorgeous and today looks nice.

The worst name pairing I heard of was Hans and Franz! Franz was in one of my small groups in grad school and told us his brother's name. But how could his parents have guessed that Hans and Franz would be a big hit on SNL!

I'm sorry to hear about the heavy news! :(

Like others here, Cain and Abel first came to mind! Definitely the worst! Sorry you have to add that one to your workload, and especially for that reason. But very glad to hear the ETV process is fast -- both filling out and getting it back. I need to do that one. C'mon spring!

Cain and Abel would be horrible, followed by Adam and Eve.

I’m sorry for your April snow. Hopefully real spring will get there soon.

Oh goodness on the child advocacy case…what Nance said about parents, and also about you. <3

The international language of doodles :)!
Cynical observers have suggested the ETA was instituted so the Brits could collect fees. (It's about 20$ a pop.)

Thanks!

I must say--Max is a goofball, but he's not hateful like JDV!

I love that your cats do that too, Nance. It's part needy and part proprietorial and I love it all.

Thank you, Steph. Hopefully, next week will take us to better weather at least (she says for the 13th time this year).

I'm surprised you didn't have snow, but am pleased for you.
Hans and Franz! hahaha

Jeanie, maybe if we wish hard enough it will be Spring!
Are you headed to the UK again this year?

Sometimes I wonder how our midwestern weather woes must seem like to you and Jenny :)!
