I let the ecologue in my head be interrupted
for it is also right there and alright
ready to wait for these letters
for it is also right there and alright
ready to wait for these letters
that make all these words
that then go on to make
so many meanings
and things
watch how
it is wayward
and a bit word weary
and yet bright as a ribbon
tossed up, a road trip through
options: what is / what we wanted /
how we find our way as we brake for beauty

Beautiful! I love the analogy of the road trip in that final stanza! Your time with friends sounded wonderful! Especially with some new dogs to meet! I literally did not leave the house yesterday and Phil did not step out until he took the trash out around 8 PM!! But it was a very cold day and we were keeping our germs to ourselves since Paul was sick.
Nice.
"bright as a ribbon" is a lovely metaphor in so many ways. And now I want a bumper sticker that says I BRAKE FOR BEAUTY.
Nice final stanza. I like the picture, too, the stark beauty of winer hikes.
WE BRAKE FOR BEAUTY! We should all have that as a bumper sticker!
A road trip through options... love it. And I love the photo.
Beautiful poem, and snow and doggies! This post is the full package.
I do hope Paul is better!
And thank you, Lisa!
Thank you!
Thank you, Nance. I'd love to make you one :).
Thank you. A lot of it was a frozen lake, Steph- and I did wish it wasn't quite so frozen.
Let's do it, Nicole :)!
Thanks, Jenny--I love the photo too. I'd trade it for a warm day, though. haha.
Means a lot coming from you! Thanks, Allison!
