I've come such a long way
... north I now celebrate
this Pongal in the snow
all of us have journeys
I suppose, we're all from
somewhere else as we know
like daffodils, not even Hindu
still, here they are, little suns
intimate on the offering plate
with the shakarapongal where
they relate a welcome flight
through pressure, sludge, ice--
bright in the salute and shatter
of our planet's feral sunlight

Look at all that beautiful snow!!
"all of us have journeys" - this touched me today for some reason. xo
The snow is beautiful! We got a layer of snow here as well over the weekend which makes the world a much more beautiful place. I prefer a layer of snow on the ground during our winters! I was touched by the line. All of us have journeys as well. Boy am I on one now!
Huck's ears!! Too cute.
I am jealous of your snow. I am probably jinxing it now and we'll get slammed, but I could use a layer of snow.
It's funny everyone is mentioning the snow- you are making winter look really nice! i love the photo from you long hike on Sunday.
And, I love this poem. It's beautiful... and I love Huck dancing : )
The snow has been welcome and beautiful so far... Thanks, Nicole!
I get what you mean about snow as ground cover, Lisa. I think about your current journey a lot... hope it continues to go well!
I think Huck's ears were why this was my fave of the six different pictures I took, Engie :D
Thank you x 3, Jenny. I'm making Winter look nice, am I? Interested in visiting for a meetup :)? Engie and I could put something together.
I love the metaphor of daffodils as little suns, intimate. So perfect. I'll think of it every time I see them now, and honour their journey, too.
Huck is the picture of Joy itself. Great photo.
Thank you, Nance. I daresay, I'll be thinking of you kindly thinking of the daffodils too...
