it's going down at the (book) club

Pic: Today my bookclub people were so delighted with the verdict finding Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts--JS brought a grocery store cake whose icing read "34 Convictions" and CD had a bottle of wine whose label had been altered to say "34 Crimes."

(We were discussing The Bee Sting--I could have talked about it for another 24 hours. Our next book is Percival Everett's James--the Huck Finn re-vision.)

Bonus: My WTF dream in which I was upset because in addition to my real life kids, I had twins who were killed in a bus accident. I didn't seem to be grieving them, I was upset because (a) I hadn't put their names on the Father's Day T-shirt I had made for A (IRL, I've put Scout's name on it, of course) and (b) I couldn't remember the name of the second twin. In the dream, I went round and round wondering if it was "Collin" or "Mike" or "Asa--" all real life twins I know. I was so relieved to wake up and remember I never did have twins.

Maybe the dream has something to do with your feeling that someone is missing (Scout).

Who knows about dreams, though. At breakfast North told me they dreamed they were valedictorian but then they got suspended from school and it was taken away. I told them maybe it was because I was telling them last night about a friend of mine from high school who was valedictorian and who got high every day after school.

Whoa, what a crazy dream.
However, YES on the conviction! I know the "crimes" wine you are talking about (Snoop Dogg has a version of it and it's fantastic!).

Love the title of this post! LOL I want to join your book club SO BADLY.

I finished up The Bee Sting and I want to talk to someone about the ending so much! I have so many theories. What an incredible read. Thank you for recommending it. I loved it.

There are so many theories about twins in dreams. Some people say it's about feeling that your life is divided between two arenas that you're trying to give equal time to. If one of your twins died, it could be you worrying that you're not giving enough time/effort to one of your responsibilities. Or, it could be trying to tell you that it's time to let something go.

Gillian-- :)

Steph--The things that stick in our heads, right? I had dinner with a friend who has twins (one of whom has Nu's old name).

Nicole--I had a bit of it, it was delicious!

Nance--You would fit right in with this bookclub! It's called "Food for Thought" and 90% of members taught at the HS with my friend L. I am SO glad you liked _The Bee Sting_! I was so surprised by the ominous "turn" midway. And OMG, the end! And how I felt recalling the first line of the book after I finished it...

Thank you for the dream analysis... I do have to do a bit less, but also I'm not doing all I can do. I guess I'm just as confused in my dreams, lol.

My husband and I toasted each other when we heard THE news. Me, who grew up in Russia, asked "can you still become president if you are convicted and/or are in jail?"

Daria--As a fellow immigrant, it seems preposterous to me too!

Immigrant Mom Tours

I didn't increase the course fee for this travel course, because we had a surplus in 2023 (it's every other year). But gosh, it has ...
