another love poem

my class is united by laughter
until we look alike
it digs a hole in the day where
                            our anxiety disappears
as if sifting through our souls
for the answer
                            and finding only half words
                            and silly dreams
freed us forever/for a moment
(or so it seemed)

Pic: First-year-seminar poster exhibition. The moment I'm thinking of was in another class, but the picture I took there has too many recognizable faces, and I haven't asked for permission to post it. I'm glad the semester is almost over... but I will miss the camaraderie and intellectual tussle of the classroom. Sending extra love out into the universe for the young ones and the little ones today.

Good for you.

Lovely. Would you consider changing "my soul" to "our souls" as it's about a collective feeling in the classroom?

I love the way campus feels during exam week, to be honest with you. It's so quiet and everyone is focused and it makes me feel like this is how the world could be if introverts were in charge!

It's amazing how we bond with our students. I spend the whole year with mine and always cry on the last day of school.

Oh, I loved when my class would all laugh together. It truly does unite everyone and drains any anxiety. It's like a Reset Button.
