lament

every day is goodbye  
                                       every breath is a sigh    
every day a library of sadness circulates inside

                                        every day is goodbye

every day another opportunity to dream/decide

some day you will have    known me not to cry
as sharp shards of hope               scrape for joy

Sorry about being vague, Nicole. I think Scout is letting me know it's time... he's no longer interested in food or being outside. He still wags his tail and perks up when I'm close or pet him though. The deciding feels like too much, but also--we're his family and have to do what's best for him. I haven't slept in three days and am a mess.
