float the ghosts of ease
ascend the essence of sweetness
mysterious peace has brushed me
where light echoes soft darkness
where stillness distills silence
and the certainty of sleep
ascend the essence of sweetness
mysterious peace has brushed me
where light echoes soft darkness
where stillness distills silence
and the certainty of sleep

I may get more than two hours of sleep tonight. (But all my grading is done!)

Two hours! I sure hope you get more than two hours, my friend *sends sleep signals from Goodnight Care Bear*
Sleep is tough these days for so many of us. I hope, though, that you managed more than two hours. My wish for you -- many hours and only sweet dreams, none sad.
Nice.
Oh, maya--
This poem is so beautiful. The assonance and consonance, first of all, makes the sound so much a part of its tone and meaning. I was entranced as soon as I read the first line: the mood was set, an image was drawn, and I couldn't wait for the rest of the poem to draw me further in.
The third line's verb choice is so evocative and unusual. Just perfect. I could feel it!
The whole poem is literally an experience. Bravo, my friend. Genius.
I got solid sleep last night, Nicole! Two hours was too little even for me! I couldn't summon the words I needed in conversations!
I slept so soundly last night, I can't even remember my dream Jeanie, thank you!
Thank you!
Oh, Nance! This means so much. Thank you! XX
