Dial F for flaky

It's the middle of the night so I can't text to apologize, but I just realized that I absolutely flaked on Saturday yoga with J! I didn't even remember when I texted her today about something else.

And I somehow napped through my alarm for my video call with dad and sis. I blame the "Oscar Mule" I had at the cinema with my galentines for that.

(We went to see Wuthering Heights, which ended very disappointingly for the literature nerds amongst us [kinda halfway though the book before Heathcliff does the more Heathcliff-y things]. I think there has been some buzz about casting a white person as Heathcliff [he's supposedly Roma/Lascar]. But also they cast an East Asian and a South Asian in leading roles and the songs were by Charli XCX [who's half Indian] so it's not malice, at least?)

Pic: Dial M for Murder with Big A at Williamston Theater yesterday. It's so tiny intimate.

There is so much buzz about Wuthering Heights! I guess it’s good that a classic is getting so much interest. I’m glad you also got a movie in with Big A!

Take care.

It's so funny, my friend was talking to me about Wuthering Heights yesterday! She hadn't read the book before but looked it up and found that the movie ended with half the book to go! It was never my favourite but STILL that kind of thing bothers me a lot, as you know. I get so irritated at screen adaptations because of things like that but that is especially bad!!! So I WILL NOT go and see it (I wasn't going to anyway, but I'm FLOUNCING OFF here)

We all have off days. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Beth and I were talking about WH yesterday, how it's gotten bad reviews (the Post called it "fan fiction") and we probably won't see it. I imagine it ends halfway through the novel because that makes Heathcliff more sympathetic, as the worst things he does are in the second half.

I just deleted my entire comment about WH, the film because I decided to make it part of a blog post instead. THANK YOU.

And let me say that I like the image of you as a drowsy drunkard. You had a very UnMaya, Irresponsible Weekend, and I think you were long overdue for just that. XO

Suzanne and I text each other in the middle of the night all the time, just sayin'. My husband loves a Moscow Mule, and I am intrigued about what made it Oscar-y. I did not know that about Charli XCX, and I don't know why I feel like I should have, but I do! I saw a play at a tiny playhouse before Christmas, it's always enjoyable (as long as the acting is decent!)

You can text me any time, day or night. My phone is downstairs at night, and I am upstairs. However, I understand the consideration of not texting when it might wake someone. I’ve hesitated many a time not wanting to wake someone.

I’m sorry you missed your call with your dad and sister. I hope you can make that up soon! Life happens, though, right?

PS, the previews for Wuthering Heights have looked so crappy to me, I don’t want to see the woman insisting on tightening the corset…it’s been so long since I read it that I have no context to whether this is part of the story or just an artistic interpretation that lends me to thoughts of S&M, but it really, really turns me off.

Every time I see Julie's post about yoga I vow to do it with her- and then every single Saturday I forget. WHY is it so hard for me to do yoga???
I loved Charlotte Bronte's books, but hated Wuthering Heights! I have no desire to see a screen adaptation.

Looks like you have been sitting near where we were for Dial M. Did you enjoy? It's such a lovely little theatre. I might skip Wuthering Heights. Life's too short. Back from a long day at the hospital. More soon!

I do not recommend it at all!

Thanks!

You've got a nice flounce, Nicole :)!

That's a great point about Heathcliff, Steph! (It's also what truly makes him Heathcliff in my mind.)

Haha, Thank you, Nance. <3

Ha... yes. There's nowhere to hide if it's bad, I suppose. (Oscar Mule--it came in a plastic cup, and was entirely forgettable, except it did pack a punch!)

This is good to know... but I just disturbed your morning tea and now I feel bad all over again :D

It's the same director as _Saltburn_ so you may not be off the mark with your S&M interpretation!

Jenny, you do so much! I wouldn't be so touch if you forget yoga now and then <3

Jeanie--I love Williamston for that! The inspector almost landed in my lap :D

easy like Sunday mornings

Life was easy today. Being honest so I don't get more undue credit. We stocked up on food for the week, and then... headed for the beach...
