this sight is silk, mirroring devotion
window frames or photo frames
the wetness of the day ahead
is already foreseen
where are the saints of broken dreams
and empty hearts--summon them
I see a familiar face, then see
that, for now, it's just me
but did I not wish once upon a time
to know myself, sight the filigree
of light? On this threshold
I could pause, gratefully

Oooh that's beautiful, Maya xo
MAYA. I don't know why, but for a while I kept trying to get to your blog and it was saying it was "private." I don't know if it was something weird I was doing??? Anyway I kept thinking about you... and I tried again today and here I am.
So much to say... I know how hard Christmas probably was. And, At moving to Chicago! I will say- Chicago seems like a lovely, lovely city that is welcoming to all. I think At will be happy there. And it's not too far from you.
Glad to be back in your comment section!
The poem is as lovely as your conservatory -- a perfect place to ignore the snow1 Be peaceful these days. I always welcome Twixtmas to restore before a new year begins.
Why is this the weather, Maya? WHY?
Okay, I love the idea of secret flowers! That's a wonderful thing to have as a talisman against the snow!
Thanks, Nicole <3
I should have emailed you, Jenny! I didn't want you to feel like you HAD to comment--I've haven't exactly been a bundle of sunshine here lately :)
Thank you, Jeanie. I can't wait until you can drive again. Did I know the term "Twistmas?" If I did, it had fallen into disuse, thank you for reminding me of such a quirky and charming word!
Engie--If I wasn't already in a blue mood, this would for sure get me there, you know?
Flowers make me feel so hopeful... somehow!
This is a stunning poem, Maya! You are so talented!
Thank you, Lisa! (Still working on it.)
Your house is so lovely with all its decorative nooks and crannies.
Steph! Thank you!! I can't resist "rescuing" things from the thrift store.
