creep

Things keep creeping up on me...

I thought book club was next week, it was yesterday.

I thought I was doing a Zoom poetry reading for an event at Agnes Scott College on the 27th of October... nope; it was today. I managed to show up on time Zoom ready (silk blouse on top, tracksuit bottoms) and read ok, I think (at least from the kind comments people shared).

Our Grand Canyon trip is next week. I don't know if I'm ready for this trip I've waited for all my life.

I've never been to the Grand Canyon, maya, but everyone I've talked to that has tells me the same thing: it is an experience of awe and one that is sometimes spiritual and life-changing.

It may well be that this trip is perfectly timed for you. It may be precisely what you and your soul need. I hope that you do go.

Oh Maya, I hope that if you are able to go to the Grand Canyon, that the majesty of it brings you a bit of peace.

Thank you for the encouragement, Nance. I was probably going to go (sunk cost + not disappointing A who's been planning the trip for a year).
But the impending government shutdown may have some repercussions on national park visitors...

Thank you, J. I am a bit excited about it...

I think you should go. Being out in nature may or may not help, but it certainly won't hurt.

I'm crying a little thinking of you having this giant loss right before a lifetime trip. I don't even know what to say other than that. Beauty and wonder and grief right next to each other all the time.

easy like Sunday mornings

Life was easy today. Being honest so I don't get more undue credit. We stocked up on food for the week, and then... headed for the beach...
