So many friends didn't make it to the protests yesterday, but they still seem to have been well attended overall. I know I needed a break. I needed a break last week. (And did take one.) And NGL, I was relieved I had a good excuse in commencement this weekend.
I'm usually such a news hound and love following the way a story breaks and builds. But right now, the screwy sophistry of our times would make that (probably literally) maddening. I mean... have you seen the executive Easter message?
Quick! Pivot! Focus on joyful things!
I am IN LOVE with this song and its whole dreamlike vibe. I'm seeing Kendrick and SZA in Detroit in June and that feels like a dream too.
And I sent out the invites for Nu's graduation party (with Nu's approval). The date's right in the middle of the week, because that's when Big A is off and my MIL will be here, but I know my friends got me. I so wish my parents and sister and aunts and uncles AND COUSINS could be here too...

That's a nice looking spread.
Yay for the graduation party!!!
OMG you're going to se Kendrick and SZA?????
Actually, it makes me happy when Trump does something like this- really exposes his true self. He's such a gigantic hypocrite, posing as a Christian. I hope all the Christians who voted for him are sorry (but, probably not, as he can do the most outrageous things and get away with all of it.)
ANYWAY. Your Easter table is so, so beautiful!
Beautiful spread. I hope you had a nice holiday.
Enjoy.
Loving your cute little egg chicks! Your table is so pretty. And yes, worst Easter message ever. I'm glad you could take a protest-free day (even if it hadn't been graduation!)
That spread is so springy and charming and beautiful!
It makes me happy to see your little egg chicks and remember them from last year. That means we've been friends for at least a year now! YAY.
Your table is gorgeous and festive! That Easter message is so on brand. I do not know how so many so-called Christians can support him. It's sickening! Bleh.
I feel like Trump’s Easter message was the final straw that killed the Pope. Or maybe it was the most recent episode of The Last of Us, which I will never not be angry about. Or maybe it was the visit from Vance. I think it was all three, and he said, “I’M OUT.” And who could blame him. One of my FB friends (a woman who was my best friend when I was 8) posted a meme (prior to the tweet) about how Biden celebrated Easter in 2024 by posting about the Trans day of visibility, and Trump would be celebrating by honoring the Lord, and the final line is “we are not the same”, and I thought, AMEN SISTER. I mean, who do you think Jesus would be hanging with and comforting? Trans people who are subject to SO MUCH persecution, or that asshole TRUMP?
It looks like you had a lovely Easter!
Thanks, Nicole! Yes... pinching myself!
Thanks, Jenny! (This is so unhinged--I would laugh if I wasn't crying.)
Thank you, Steph--we finished up today :).
Thanks!
Thanks, Jeanie!
Thank you!
A whole year of your kindness in my life? YAY!
Thanks, Lisa! (The dissonance is bewildering!)
A said J.D. killed the pope and I've seen whole articles suggesting it too... poor man (the pope). Imagine giving your life to service and having to deal with assholes...
I had to reread your friend's meme a couple of times to get it because I kept defaulting to supporting the marginalized = good.
Haven't watched this season of Last of Us because... I'll DM you.
Yes, my friend thinks supporting marginalized people is bad, and Trump is good. So gross.
