could that be

Last night, I was hanging out with Max and Huck when Nu showed up in the rumpus room at 2:30 or so... They'd headed for bed hours ago, so I was confused, but they told me they were going outside to see the blood moon...

I had no idea! Nu is in an astronomy class at school and that's where they'd heard! Edcuation! Don't disband the Department of Education!

Anyway, we went outside and it was beautiful and surreal. I liked the reversal of Nu showing me something in nature.

Pic: My blurry phone pic of the blood moon. It's Holi today too, and for once it's warm enough to play outside but I didn't plan ahead.

What a beautiful picture! And how cool to learn for your child! That has happened to me quite a bit with Paul when he used to watch Wild Kratts. He’d say things like ‘did you know voles live in the subnivian zone’ and I didn’t even know there was such a thing as a subnivian zone.

But how were you up at 2:30am and still functioning the next day!!!

Oh, you saw it! Great! I knew about it, but I also knew I'd never be able to stay awake for it. (Those days are LONG GONE.)

I saw the moon but it wasn't red when I saw it - what a great photo you got!
I can't believe the department of education is actually under fire. It's education! Well, I guess that honestly says it all, doesn't it.

That's a great photo! I didn't hear about the blood moon until it was too late (as in, yesterday evening). Very cool phenomenon!

I totally missed it :/ I was in such a state last night that I went to bed at 8pm, after lying on my acupressure mat and listening to a few meditations. Feeling better today!

It was early enough here that I could have stayed up to watch, but it was cloudy so we could just go to bed. I'm glad you got to see it though, I love it!

Lisa, OMG, yes. The Wild Kratts are a treasure. I've had that happen as well.

I'm usually up at least that late... I always think I'm going to work on it, but I procrastinate on sleep so much. I am probably not as productive as I could otherwise be. :/

Asking me to stay awake for it would have probably--perversely--put me to sleep. I just happened to be up, serendipitously!

Seriously, Nicole! Some of this stuff is so far out!

Thank you, Steph!

Thanks, Suz. My viewing was 100% accidental :).

I'm so glad you're feeling better, Daria. I want to know more about your accupressure mat!

It was pretty cool to see, J. You all get so many cool phenomena, so I hope something cool comes your way soon.

At least you got a photo. I was in Canada and by then sound asleep. I would have loved to see it.

We had perfect skies for it this time, Jeanie. I hope you had a great time in Canada!
