in a nutshell

During the day I hosted the Michigan Academy WGS section of the conference.

In the evening I hosted bookclub for The Berry Pickers.

I didn't spend a cent all day.

And now I'm super tired.

Also: Midterm break is over.

First of all, Happy Birthday (so says FB.) I hope you have a wonderful midterm break. I'm super tired too -- different reasons. And no, didn't spend, either. Just a little heartsick about yesterday's news. No, a lot heartsick.

I hope you can take some well-needed time to rest. Stay hydrated!
(oops, sorry. that last part was momspeak that inadvertantly sneaked out.)

I hope book club was great. I want to know what you made! I think you had planned to make a berry-forward dessert!!

I did spend yesterday but avoided the problematic retailers and fast food. But I intend to participate in future black out days!!

I would be worn out too! I hope today was restorative. I did spend, I went to a local restaurant for dinner, and ended up having to use my credit card for the parking garage. Boo! Paid cash for dinner and got confused about that because I gave all of my money and then my friend used her credit card and then we figured out the tip wrong because my cash tip lowered the bill, and I ended up having to go back today to leave the waiter more money. She probably thought, "Wow, those women SEEMED nice, but what cheapskates!"

Thank you for the early wishes, Jeanie! I'm sorry about how this world is weighing you (and me) down... <3

I'm going to treat myself to so many walks, Nance! I'll be sure to guzzle (and I guess I'll hear your voice when I do :).

Lisa--Book club liked Joe and thought Norma was wooden. Some thought that was because of her history, and some thought it was because of bad writing. I made my apple-blueberry-celery-cucumber-spinach-feta salad with balsamic dressing. I invented it one day, randomly putting things together, and it works! Add some protein, and it's a meal.

Grrl,, You had a day with Paul planned way before any of the blackout plans--what were you supposed to do? I hope you had a great time!

I'm smiling at this--partly because it sounds like such a mellow evening with a friend and partly because we're all learning about using cash again.
(I'm sure the waiter thought it was nice of you to top up the tip!)

I didn't spend money Friday either, but I often do that (I didn't spend anything the day before either) so it didn't feel like much of a sacrifice.

Steph--I have to say I like not spending at the places that are being dicks. We canceled our Prime (again!) and it feels so good.

LOL, not spending at places that are being dicks. I LIKE THAT TOO!

Also, the Prime cancelation was inspired by YOU!
