I was walking back home to dinner (which I wasn't making BTW, it was Nu's Boss Day and we were getting Pokè) when I started getting inundated with texts asking where I was, if I was ok, did I need a ride back, etc. etc. So many texts! Ooof. I wasn't late to dinner or asking for help. Tamils would call this anbu thollai--kindness-torture. (Vaguely related to that other oxymoronic term the East Asian polite-fight.) I probably do this too... but sometimes you just... gotta let people be. (Or perhaps I'd miss it if it went away? IDK!)
Pic: Max and Huck (the fuzzy brown blur by the back door) exploring the yard after Big A completed the first mow of the year (there'll be another one around the start of fall). The plantings around the pond are beginning to come in nicely, but not fast enough for me.

Nice photo.
I love the term Kindness Torture, and I need to remember that it can be a Thing.
Yes, I like that term as well. And I know this feeling- there's nothing more annoying than getting texts saying "Are you okay? I'm getting worried!" (yes I'm fine- leave me alone!)
Hahaha well...I guess at least you were missed? We have the family tracker on our iphones, I think it's called Find My iPhone, and I'm pretty sure my husband is always stalking me on it. Not in a bad way, usually it's to see when I'm coming home from Superstore so he can help me with the groceries, but he'd never text these things because he knows where I am!
Gillian--Thanks!
Nance--Does it come off as a bit mean and ungrateful in English? In Tamil, the exasperation is almost affectionate in itself.
Jenny--Haha. Yes. I'm not very introverted, but even I like to be by myself sometimes!
Nicole--I think we have something similar (Find my Friends)... but obviously it would be easier to just keep texting me over and over again. LOL
We went about two months without mowing the back yard because I didn't want to mow down the buttercups and asters and then once they were finished Noah got stung by a bee moving the bee-infested chair (that's how we found out about the bees) as he was preparing to mow and he didn't want to mow until we got rid of the bees and it took a while to get a beekeeper out here. The whole thing was kind of ironic because I didn't want to mow the wildflowers partly because they were pretty but also for the pollinators and then one of them goes and stings my son. We did have them removed and released though and didn't spray them.
Steph-I'm so sorry Noah got stung! (I admired your news cushions, but must have missed the update about Noah's encounter.)
I love that you got a beekeeper to take the bees elsewhere instead of killing them <3.
