I, along with tons of people on the internet, learned about "glimmers," which are "the opposite of triggers" on CupOfJo (and elsewhere) this weekend. I cannot say how much I love this concept.
A bit jet-lagged and tired today, but here are a couple of glimmers.
* Made a quick trip to the local Sainsbury's and I found my favorite mango-passionfruit yogurt. Why do they not have this in the US? It's the most sublime flavor IMO and the first spoonful just took me back to uni days.
* Someone texted me that they got a 4.0 on a test and I haven't figured out who it is--whether friend or student or advisee or kid of a friend, etc... but I'm so happy for them!

I learned about glimmers this week too and it made me so happy. What makes me extra happy is that you're with me on this glimmer journey! xo
I get a surprising number of my glimmers putting things in the compost bucket. It's on the back steps and whenever I open the back door to toss something in there I get a view of the back yard (now half covered with buttercups). Especially in the late afternoon or early evening while I'm cooking dinner, I'll go out there several times over the course of an hour or so and I almost always notice how the light has changed since the last time and what creatures are in the yard (tonight I saw a squirrel, a robin, and a rabbit all going about their business near each other).
Aw, Nicole! I feel the same way. Reading you is definitely a glimmer for me every time.
StephLove--This is just so lovely--I've read it a few times already... I hope you'll write more on this theme.
Life with a toddler is one big glimmer show.
Sarah--I can see that, how delightful to think of it that way!
Nice idea.
