"I can't Sing but I've got Soul" (U2: Elevation)

So St. Bono guest-edited The Independent out of London this week and apparently he took it pretty seriously.

It's no secret how stellar i think he is for his non partisan AIDS and anti poverty activism :)

And for these breathtaking lines: "Peace on Earth/Hear it every Christmas time/But hope and history won't rhyme/So what's it worth?" Is that just me blinded by adulation or is it somehow inspiring and optimistic?
