Big A set off for the five-day Dick Allen Lansing to MacKinaw Bicycle Tour (the DALMAC) this morning. A few friends were surprised/concerned because he was in the hospital with long Covid just last month.
If I'm being honest, I am too. But A can make decisions for himself and it's all fairly local, so I can always go pick him up if he decides to bail. He really does look forward to this tour every year, and I hope he has a lovely time!

Wow! What a trip! I would also be low-key worried BUT as you say, you can always pick him up. And also - what a cool thing to do!!
I'm VERY glad that Big A is able to do this trip! It's depressing not to be able to do the things you love (I may have mentioned this once or twice lately, ha ha) so it's great that he's doing it. He will be fine! Like you said, he knows his own body. I hope it goes well and he has a great time.
Oh, gosh. I'd have a hard time if this were my husband under the circumstances. Honestly, I'd probably have made a huge deal out of it. You're much better at being an adult and keeping your own fears/worries under control than I am. Kudos.
Good Luck.
Good luck to A on his ride. I'm glad he's feeling well enough to do it.
Cool for A for sure, Nicole! (A bit too rustic for me :)
You get it, Jenny... I definitely don't want to be *that* person!
Honestly, Nance... I *am* a bit surprised at myself! Maybe I am an adult now!
Thanks, Gillian!
Thanks, Steph. That's the part that made me most happy about the whole thing too.
